Chinese Qing Dynasty Kangxi dragon plate. The Porcelain potted in shallow vessel form, with broad wide central interior, with slight deep cavetto, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, a slightly flared lip and raised with round shallow draft. All reserved in blue fine underglaze base color which contrast against the iron red color. The exterior adorned with several snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a iron red dragon squama rounded the plate to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine blue rings lines, Made In The Years of Kangxi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
