A Chinese calligraphy scroll by Dun Wong and given to Xian Zhou. It includes a signature, dedication, 1 seal and is dated 1937. The calligraphy is on paper with a silk backing and a wooden dowel. Dimensions are 41 inches tall X 12 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor staining, but overall good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Ai Xian Zhou (1890-1955). Mr. Ai was a pioneer of higher education in China during the early 20th century, as well as a renowned psychologist. He was a professor of psychology and a dean of the College of Education at China Central University. He was also appointed to various leadership positions in the Department of Education in the Nationalist government of the 1930s and 1940s.
