HEAD OF A BUDDHA. Thailand. Early Ayutthaya period (1350-1767). 14th-16th c. Bronze with dark and partly patina. The calm and introverted facial features are of great elegance. The bridge of the nose runs out into the two high brow arches, the eyes are almost closed and filled with residue of lacquer for the missing inlays. The hair is formed as small spirals and covers the head with the Ushnisha, which is crowned by a flame. Height 30cm. Mounted on a wooden base. Condition A/B. Bronze mit dunkler und teils grünlicher Patina. Die ruhigen und in sich gekehrten Gesichtszüge ist von großer Eleganz. Der Nasenrücken läuft in die zwei hohen Brauenbögen aus, die Augen sind fast geschlossen mit Resten von Lack für die Einlagen. Die Haare sind als Spiralen geformt und bedecken den Kopf mitsamt der Ushnisha, die von einer Flamme bekrönt ist. Höhe 30cm. Auf einem Holzsockel. Zustand A/B.
