A COPPER-RED GLAZED BEEHIVE WATER POT, QING China, 18th - earlier 19th century. The domed body is covered with an unctuous, crushed strawberry-red glaze thinning to a mushroom tone on the lipped rim. The recessed base with a thin ochre glaze. Condition: Excellent condition with only minor fritting to foot. Provenance: The Douglas Wright collection. Acquired by the current owner from the above. Remainders of old collector's label to base. Weight: 69.7 g. Dimensions: Height 5.4 cm.
