A TIBETAN GILT BRONZE OF BUDDHA AMITAYUS, 19TH- EARLY 20TH CENTURY Tibet, c. 1870-1930. Seated in padmasana on a sealed double lotus base, the vessel in his hands containing the nectar of immortality, wearing finely incised robes, a foliate crown and jewelry, the hair in a high chignon, and framed by celestial bands. With iconographic cold painting. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and small dents and nicks. Provenance: From the collection of Georg Weifert (1850-1937). Thence by descent in the same family. Weifert was a Serbo- Austrian industrialist and the first governor of the Federal Bank of the Kingdom of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. Weight: 543.0 g.
