(2) African Benin style figure mounted rider & lion. Rider has traditional headdress and carries sword. Horse has saddle, stirrups, reins and armor. Lion is in sitting position with ball at end of tail and depiction of long straight mane. Dimensions are: horse and rider: 4 in (10.2 cm) wide X 15 1/4 in (38.7 cm) tall and 14 3/4 in (37.5 cm) long. Lion: 5 in (12.7 cm) wide X 8 7/8 in (22.5 cm) tall X 14 in (35.6 cm) long. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Some patina on both statues. Provenance: From a Northern Virginia collection.
