A large, Chinese, porcelain jar of inverted baluster form with spreading base & overhanging onion-dome finial cover, the body painted in a wucai glaze with a heavenly scene of figures gathered around small deer-drawn carts, gnarled trees & wispy clouds surrounding, with auspicious artifacts at the neck & within a decorative band at the shoulder, the cover with a similar decorative band further decorated with a bird perched on a twisting flowering branch, the underside with a pair of concentric blue rings. H: 17 3/4" (45.1cm) Provenance: collection of the Robert B. and Beatruce C. Mayer familly Condition: in good condition, the cover is excellent , the vase with repairs made to 1/4 of the neck
