A 19th C. large, Chinese, porcelain vase with squared sides painted in the sancai palette alternating between dragons & phoenixes in ochre, brown, & green against a glossy black ground with white clouds, the clouds continuing across the gently arching shoulder and up the cylindrical neck with flared rim, this also painted with a pair of phoenixes, mounted as a 3-bulb lamp with metal cap & square wooden scrollwork base. H: 23 3/4" (60.3cm) Condition : mounted as lamp with numerous glaze chips along each of the edges. a restored chip to the mouth rim(approx 6 cm).
