救八难度母即为绿度母，因能救狮难、象难、火难、蛇难、水难、牢狱难、贼难、非人难八种苦难而得名。此幅着重表现绿度母救八难的功德。主尊居于中央，身色金黄，头戴花冠，顶束高发髻，面相妩媚。双乳高隆，上身饰项圈和长链，下身着长裙，手足处有钏镯装饰。半跏坐姿，左脚横盘，右脚下垂踩莲花，右手置右膝结施与印，左手当胸执莲花。主尊上方绘阿弥陀佛，两侧及下方绘八度母，吉祥天母。每尊度母身旁绘有各度母所救之难，及求救的合十信徒，情景十分生动。画面构图饱满，内容丰富，色彩浓艳，画风淳朴，具有浓郁的蒙古地方绘画特色。
