Henri Vieuxtemps (1820 - 1881) manuscript Musical Quotation, Autographs and Two Notes to Oliver Hopkinson. The first note appears to be written in crayon, referencing playing Hopkinson's violin and written in both blue and red. The second note is accompanied by a beautifully precise manuscript Musical Quotation of "Fantasia Op. 33" signed to Monsieur Hopkinson 22 Dec 1857". Henri Vieuxtemps was a Belgian composer and violinist. He occupies an important place in the history of the violin as a prominent exponent of the Franco-Belgian violin school during the mid-19th century. The longer note written in crayon reads "Se domms une lecon en ce moment. Apres j'examinerai votre violors et pasterai chez vous ouplutot veuez dans une heure" followed by his signature.
