Former Vice President and Senator Henry Wilson (1812-1875) Manuscript Letter to Henry Charles Carey (1793 - 1879), the leading 19th-century economist of the American School of capitalism, and chief economic adviser to U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. The letter reads - "Senate Chambers, Henry C. Carey Esq., Dear Sir - Your note is received, and in reply I can truly say that we shall pass a Tariff bill if we have the power.
