A good Japanese Meiji period Satsuma koro, the pierced domed lid above twin pierced handles and heart shaped panel decorated with figures set within a bird painted river landscape and raised on three shaped feet, signed to base, height 16cm, width 13.5cm. Additional Information The cover has a puzzling red residue to the underside, no restoration shows up under UV, but this does appear odd and has possibly been repaired. The interior of the body is stained, otherwise light rubbing to the gilding throughout.
