John Falconer Slater (1857-1937) An evening landscape Signed l.l., oil on canvas 51 x 91.5cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which is unlined, the canvas has good tension and is in plane. There is a small damage in the lower half of the painting, a few broken threads are evident on the reverse and the front has a small area of retouching. Near the lower edge is a small impact damage where the paint layer is scuffed. The paint layer is in a good condition overall. The varnish is slightly grubby in appearance but clear and even. There is minor wear to the gilding on the frame but overall it is in a good condition.
