带銙为和阗白玉质地，细腻凝润。器体呈桃形，双层透雕白鹇牡丹纹。白鹇翎毛华丽、体色洁白，因为啼声喑哑，所以称为“哑瑞”，在中国文化中自古即是名贵的观赏鸟。《禽经》记载“似山鸡而色白，行止闲暇”，因此宋代李昉所畜养的五种珍禽中，白鹇即被称为“闲客”。明清时期用于五品官员的补子纹饰，但在明代一品官员所用的玉带板中出现白鹇纹饰尚不多见。参阅：《中国玉器赏鉴》（上海科学技术出版社）薛贵笙主编 第194图“明 白玉凤纹桃形带銙”可供参考。
