此件带板为和阗白玉质，受沁显灰色。长方形片状，器表减地打洼，圆形开光内浮雕一卧鹿。鹿头尖圆、梭形眼，眼线向前延伸，鼻孔以短阴线表示，以长阴线表示口，身躯壮硕丰腴，肌理线条流畅，四肢屈于腹下，再出斜刀刻划蹄足，尾粗短曲卷，造型圆润可爱，神态怡然自得，身体以圆点装饰梅花，极具趣味性。具有鲜明的宋代特征。在中国古代，人们视含芝鹿为吉祥物，鹿乃瑞兽，能通人性，常吟草药为人治病，艺术家常以之为题材做创作。《艺文类聚》引《瑞应图》云﹕“天鹿者，纯善之兽也，道备则白鹿见。王者明惠及下则见。”意取福禄、长寿、如意之吉祥含义。
