此书为王襄旧藏并批注四部丛刊本《史通》，钤印“王襄”，目录后有跋语，全书眉端多墨批，又夹有签条。王襄为最早发现甲骨文的学者之一，并长期摹写甲骨，其小字气足神完，铿然有金石气，为书法妙品。王襄（1876-1965），祖籍浙江绍兴，世居天津。中国现代金石学家、甲骨学家。长期从事金石学、甲骨学研究，为中国的金石、甲骨学研究，特别是殷墟甲骨文的发现与保护做出了巨大贡献。
