葫芦是宫廷器物中常见的题材，在瓷器、玉器、木器、铜器都有葫芦的纹样。具有吉祥、福禄等寓意。此件玉佩，以葫芦为题材，两只葫芦相对，中间透空雕琢，并雕琢出藤蔓、枝叶，与葫芦相缠绕，有福禄万代的寓意。玉佩一面为阳雕“大吉”，另一面阴雕诗文“领袖群仙上紫薇，云间相邀步相随”。葫芦又是仙家的象征，两只葫芦相随之形与诗意相应，颇有意趣。
