斋戒牌是清代皇帝及文武官员祭祀时挂于身上的警示牌。雍正十年，雍正皇帝认为内外大小官员虽设斋戒牌于官署，但恐言动起居之际稍有懈慢，故酌定斋戒牌的样式，缩小尺寸，谕令各官员将斋戒牌佩于心胸之间，并得彼此观瞻，以期简束身心，竭诚致敬，不稍放逸。乾隆时期宫廷内尤为广泛使用。此牌玉质优良，琢工精细。细腻纯净、温润。牌呈圆角长方形，上下雕祥云纹，纹饰流畅。中间开光内分别用满汉文刻“斋戒”两字，字体苍劲，工整大方，庄重而华丽。白玉晶莹润泽，乃上品。所雕纹饰简洁、生动，刀笔回转之间尽显匠者纯熟的技艺，匠心独运。
