An ink and watercolor painting on paper by Wang Zhen (1867-1938). The painting, which has 5 seals, a poem, and a dedication to Lan Sun, depicts a flowering plum tree and a bird. It is mounted on a silk backing with wooden dowels. Dimensions are: 67 in. tall X 15 in. wide, 170.2 cm tall X 38.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in overall good condition with some creasing and a small tear where the su***ce of the paper has broken. Provenance: From a southern California estate, whose family moved to the US from Shanghai in 1949.
