文殊立像以紫檀为材雕刻而成，通体描金，珈蓝和红彩点缀髪色，愈加显眼。头戴叶冠，髪缕垂肩而下；脸庞圆润，双目冥神，双唇丰润，略带微笑；长耳戴铛，披饰华丽的璎珞，施皈依印。腰系襦裙，身姿挺拔，轮廓曲线，起伏优美。左肩有莲花一枝，托起经书。莲花则代表纯洁无染，花上放有般若经，作为智慧与慈悲的象征。整体造型精美端庄，匀称优雅，体态婀娜，线条流畅，富丽堂皇，是一件不可多得的宫廷佛像佳作。在佛教中认为，文殊菩萨为「智慧」的象征。佛教四大菩萨之一，释迦牟尼佛的左胁侍菩萨，代表聪明智慧。因德才超群，居菩萨之首，故称法王子。文殊菩萨造像多以跏趺姿态为主，站姿的文殊菩萨像却不多见。
