Oil on canvas. Dimensions 67 x 77 cm. Franz Martin Kuen completed this painting shortly before his death in 1771. It is modelled on the well-known fresco by Tiepolo at the Palazzo Labia in Venice. Kuen met Tiepolo during his study visit in Venice between 1745 and 1747 and was greatly influenced by the artist's work. The oil painting was created from a sketch of the fresco he made during his time in Venice, which is part of the Kuen estate kept at the local history museum of his home town Weissenhorn, Germany. Es ist nach dem bekannten Tiepolo-Fresko im Palazzo Labia in Venedig angefertigt worden. Kuen lernte Tiepolo während seines Studienaufenthalts in Venedig zwischen 1745 und 1747 kennen und wurde von diesem Künstler stark beeinflusst. Das Ölgemälde ist nach einer von ihm angefertigten Zeichnung aus der Zeit seines Studienaufenthalts geschaffen worden, welche im Kuen-Nachlass im Heimatmuseum Weißenhorn aufbewahrt wird.
