笔筒为文人雅士书房必备案头之物，此件笔筒直口，口沿圆滑，小底，整器由瘿木挖成，纹理清晰，“满架葡萄”，下承弦纹底座，仿漆奁形制之意。明清时期，木质家具、文玩蔚然成风，定制者追求木质纹理特殊、清妍，此为明清文人之雅趣。同款可参《文玩萃珍 Arts from the Scholar's Studio》，东方陶瓷学会，1986年，页228，图214。
