Gold medallion comprising a circular suspension loop with ribbed decoration on the exterior and an oval-shaped medallion with several concentric registers of granulated decoration arranged in chevron patterns to create a sunlight motif. The centre of the medallion is set with a garnet cabochon. The back is flat and undecorated. This gorgeous piece would probably have belonged to a Roman noblewoman.
