本件器物，厚壁，撇口，鼓腹下垂，圈足内为玉璧底，环形状无釉涩底露胎，器内壁不施釉，肩腹部分置两蚰耳，整体造型端庄，器型规整，修胎俐落，釉面莹润。蚰龙耳原器出自《宣德彝器图谱》卷五，因其炉耳弯曲如蚰，故得名蚰龙耳炉。蚰龙耳炉，亦「素风」之炉也，其双耳，实为「龙之形简也」，宣德皇帝极为喜爱，将它放在御书房内，称它「款识大雅，为诸炉之冠。」其淡定高洁，光素清雅之风范，历来为皇室贵胄，为人雅士，各色人等所好，以致传世颇多，广为适用。
