Second Lieutenant's Kepi, ca. 1880, with a blue wool body on a blue band edged with double ranks of gold bullion, matching ranks on the front, back, both sides, and the quatrefoil centered on the crown. Thin tarred leather adjustable chin strap held fast with matching Federal eagle buttons. Wide tarred leather visor with stitched leather edging. Light brown cotton lining. Leather sweatband is intact. 10" long. Some soiling.
