An Imperial Chinese yellow glazed bowl with a 6-character Guangxu mark and of the period. The exterior is incised with dragons chasing flaming pearls above a wave and rock motif. Dimensions are: 3 inches tall X 6 3/4 inches wide, 7.6 cm tall X 17.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
