A pair of Chinese blue and white meiping vases dating from the 15th to 16th centuries. The vases have central bands of floral tracery around their bodies, upper bands of ruyi and floral motifs around their shoulders, and lower bands with Greek key borders around their bases. Dimensions are: 10 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 12.7 cm. All measurements are approximate. High resolution images can be found here Condition: The mouth of one vase has two chips and has been repaired. The same vase also has a crack and several hairlines. The other vase has several hairlines. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
