A pair of Austrian ivory models of itinerant musicians, circle of Simon Troger, 1683-1768, mid 18th century, each bare-footed figure with ragged clothes, one holding a trumpet, the other a lute, on engine-turned bases, the figures - 13cm high (2) Note: Born in the town of Abfaltersbach in Austria, Simon Troger established a large workshop in nearby Haidhausen, executing commissions for patrons such as Maximillian III, Elector of Bavaria.
