A group of seven 19th century gilt-mounted mourning brooches, comprising: four enamel examples, all with black enamel surrounds, two with glazed hairwork centres, one bearing the legend IN MEMORY OF to the surround, one with central glazed compartment enclosing a later shell cameo depicting a classical female profile, and one with detached central glazed compartment, widths 5.0 (2), 5.8 and 5.4cm; one glazed compartment enclosing plaited hair with black enamel and foliate design border, the reverse engraved E. B. Roberdeau Obt. March 21st 1853, width 4.3cm; and two swivel examples, one with glazed compartment enclosing hairwork, the other with glazed compartment enclosing plaited hair, each with glazed locket to the reverse, widths 5.0 and 4.6cm respectively (7) Please refer to department for condition report
