George Goodwin Kilburne (1839-1924) A woman pouring beer for a seated man watercolour and bodycolour 16 x 14cm, mounted; Reading a letter to the family signed with initials 'GGK' l.r., watercolour and bodycolour 9 x 13.5cm, mounted; A game of cricket signed 'G G Kilburn..' l.r., watercolour 8.5 x 13.5cm, mounted; Hauling logs through the snow signed with initials 'GGK' l.r., watercolour and bodycolour 13 x 11cm, mounted; five further mounted watercolours, largest 13.5 x 13.5cm; and an album containing a further 31 small pencil drawings (largest 19 x 11cm), 22 pen and ink drawings, 6 small watercolours, some en grisaille, 12 Kilburne family photographs, and further photographs and prints (qty.) Condition report: There are nine watercolours within mounts: all have paper discolouration, staining and spots of foxing to various degrees. Figures in a punt, a woman pouring beer, and a mother seated with her children have the most severe staining. The cricketing scene has a horizontal crease running across the lower section level with the signature. All are attached to the mounts with tape. At least two have paper/card stuck onto the back of them. The remaining pencil drawings, pen and ink drawings and unmounted watercolours all have staining, foxing, discolouration to the paper, and the occasional crease. Some have pieces of card or other pictures stuck to the backs of them. The photographs also show signs of wear and age.
