David Farquharson ARA (1839-1907) 'An old mill pond' signed 'D Farquharson' and inscribed on stretcher, oil on canvas 30.5 x 46cm Condition report: Oil on canvas which is unlined and has a faint artists’ supplier stamp for Winsor and Newton on the reverse. Overall the canvas and paint layers are in a very good condition. The canvas is in plane with no distortions. The painting is unvarnished and has a matte, chalky finish. In some of the darker areas a slight bloom has formed on the surface. The frame is glazed and the painting is very close to the glass.
