CHINESE PAINTING OF BAMBOOS AND BUTTERFLY FLYING
Yu Fei an (1889-1959), originally named Yu Zhao,Penglai people in Shandong Province were from aixinjuero. Born in Beijing on March 22, 1889, he died in the same place on July 3, 1959. In his early years, he studied painting with Wang runxuan. He was specialized in fine brushwork and bird painting since 1935. He worked in the exhibition center of Ancient Palace Museum, copied and studied a large number of ancient paintings, laying a deeper traditional foundation. In 1936, the first personal painting exhibition was held in Zhongshan Park, Beiping. After the establishment of the people's Republic of China, he successively served as a researcher of the Central Institute of national fine arts, painter and vice president of Beijing Academy of Chinese painting (now Beijing Academy of painting).
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of David George Glen (1924-2016) of Delaware, raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of William and Agnes Glen. His formal education was completed at Daniels Stewarts College, Edinburgh, after which he entered the field of medicine. He was a certified rehabilitation specialist, serving in military and civilian hospitals in the United Kingdom. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Royal Air Force. In 1955 David immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1961.
