A Sancai-Glazed Pottery Tripod Incense Burner, Tang Dynasty. The result of Ralf Kotalla thermoluminescence test no.GG06.30.09.4 is consistent with the dating of this lot. Size: 5 3/4" H x 8 3/4" W. One leg has been broken and re-stuck. Provenance: Former S. Byrne(1918-1996) collection, NY and acquired 1970's-1980's. Thence by descent in the family. Mr. S. Byrne was a prolific Collector of Chinese Art, acquiring important pieces from major auction houses and galleries in the New York Area.
