口沿微折，弧腹下收，圈足。口沿描金，内部绘一周云福纹，碗心金彩团寿字，外围如意头。外壁绿彩绘海水，胭脂红描金五只游龙，姿态各异，纹饰顺快流畅、色泽明艳动人，笔触不痴不弱。外底金彩绘团寿字。
胭脂红釉不同于以往御窑厂制瓷时所用的铜红和矾红，它是一种以金着色、带有紫色调的粉红色，由于釉中含金，因此也常被人称为“金红”。出现于康熙晚期，亦称“蔷薇红”、“洋金红”、“玫瑰红”，为低温彩釉，浅淡者为胭脂红，浓重者又称“胭脂紫”。它是引入西洋配釉法，在红釉中加金以低温烧成，早期多施于薄胎白釉器上，施釉较薄，以便发色及流釉均匀，督窑官唐英在《陶成记事碑》中称之为“西洋紫色”。
