Description

A knightly sword, Passau, 1st half of the 15th century Slender double-edged thrusting blade of flattened diamond section. The upper third with incomplete date "144?" inlaid in brass on one side, behind it inlaid bishopâ€™s staff of the episcopal swordsmith workshop in Passau. On the reverse a cross inlaid in brass. Extensive quillons slightly curved towards the blade with square profile. Slender, slightly tapered tang with biconical octagonal pommel. Length 119.5 cm. Condition: II - III
