A German medieval hand-and-a-half sword, circa 1450 The narrow, double-edged thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section. Shallow fullers on both sides of the upper half with a straight-armed cross inlaid in copper between an "S" and a "D". Straight iron quillons, the hexagonal arms widening conically outwards. The original grip with cord winding covered in black leather (rubbed, incomplete). The slightly oval disc pommel with bevelled edges and a double-stepped, riveted iron button. Length 120 cm.Rare, early sword. This condition is seldom available on the market.Condition: III
