An Italian military rapier, circa 1560 Double-edged blade of diamond section, forte fullered on both sides. Partially pitted, the edge chipped here and there. The inscription "DOMINICVUS" stamped within the fuller on one side, barely legible on the other side. Robust triple-fullered ricasso. Iron bar hilt with spirally turned bars and chiselled balusters. Grip with later leather cover. Spirally turned pommel. Metal surfaces with dark age patina. Length 110 cm. Rare Landsknecht weapon from the age of the German Wars of Religion.Condition: II - III
