Volume I, 2nd edition of 1926, with a personal inscription to "Josef Mayerhofer mit deutschem Heil Adolf Hitler München, den 26/ November 1926" ([to] Josef Mayerhofer with a German "Heil" Adolf Hitler Munich the 26th November 1926) as well as a photo postcard inscribed by Wilhelm Brückner "J. Mayerhofer Zur Erinnerung Brückner 1926", the card's reverse with a very interesting notation by Mayerhofer "Gegen eine Gebühr von 10 Mark wurde mir durch Vermittlung von Oblt. Brückner dieses Buch "Mein Kampf" von Herrn Adolf Hitler persönlich gewidmet" (For a fee of 10 marks with the mediation of Oblt. Brückner this book "Mein Kampf" was dedicated to me personally by Mr. Adolf Hitler). Laid-in is the original invoice from the Franz Eher Press, Munich with a charge of 12 marks and 40 pfennigs payable in three monthly instalments. A highly interesting legacy, in particular because of the notation by Mayerhofer on the reverse of the postcard. Apparently this presented a good opportunity to either fill the party's cash box or Hitler's personal wallet. The fee of 10 Reichsmarks was a considerable sum for a simple book dedication, especially so because the NSDAP was happy to upbraid other institutions for "profiteering and usury".Condition: II
