A BUFF SANDSTONE STUPA SECTION. India, Pala, 10th/11th c. Height ca. 16.5 cm. With four Buddhas seated in arched niches. Wood stand. Slightly weathered. Provenance: German art market. From the collection of Günter Flad, who worked from 1959-1968 for Siemens in India (by repute). --------------- STUPA-SOCKEL. Indien, Pala, 10./11. Jh. H ca. 16,5 cm. Beiger Sandstein, achteckig mit kuppelförmigem Abschluss. Auf vier der facettierten Seiten sitzen Buddhas, die verschiedene Mudras zeigen, in Nischen mit spitzbogigen Toranas. Holz-Sockel. Leicht verwittert. Provenienz: Deutscher Handel. Aus dem Nachlass von Günter Flad, der von 1959-68 für Siemens in Indien tätig war (Bombay/Kalkutta).
