Four-piece silver and 18k gold brooch designed as a pierced trefoil cartouche suspending a droplet set with tiny old-cut and rose-cut diamonds. Symmetrically set with 17 slightly baroque form natural pearls, 16 of which bouton shaped and one droplet (white to pale grey, ca. 5.5 mm - 10 x 8.4 mm). With removable bail and brooch pin. Hallmarks: French import stamp for silver and gold used as of 1893. 8.4 x 5 cm. Weight 34.49 g. Ca. 1880. Certificate Report by the Gemmologisches Institut Hamburg, no. 83025 from 04.03.2021 confirms the pearls to be natural pearls of marine origin (salt water).
