Herbert Thomas Dicksee RE (1862-1942) ‘My Lady Sleeps’, the artist’s daughter Dorothy Sylvia (born 1901) asleep against a mastiff etching on vellum, signed in pencil, edition of 300, no other state, plate destroyed, published by Frost & Reed 1905, with blindstamp image 24.2 x 49.6cm Provenance: The Bryan Steele Collection. Condition report: Unexamined out of the glazed frame, some minor time staining to the sheet. There is a semi-circular raised line that is possibly a scratch from the reverse over the lower leg and lower edge of the child's dress - see illustration. Otherwise in apparently good condition and ready to hang.
