清末民国时期的香港中华轮船公司存世文献，目前仅见两件，一件是北京诚轩2008年春拍的1903年香港中华轮船有限公司每股壹百员陆股股票一件，另一件是上海泓盛2012秋拍的1903年（香港）中华轮船有限公司股票面额贰股（每股壹百员）一件，标注为罕见品。本件拍品为目前所见第三件文献，是中华轮船公司收到余吉堂的本金而寄交的收单，盖有两方中华轮船公司印章。余吉堂，是代孙中山还债的著名澳门绅董，1918年任澳门镜湖医院总理。孙中山早年曾欠澳门镜湖医院巨债，后于1919年，由孙中山、卢慕贞托余吉堂清还。
