A SLIT-RING, JUE, WESTERN ZHOU Lacquer or fabric coated bronze. China, Western Zhou, 10th-9th century BC Of circular form, pierced with a hole in the center with a slit through the edge, one side incised with a stylized dragon. With extensive signs of weathering and malachite-green encrustation. Compare a related jue, carved from Jade, from the Western Zhou at Bonhams New York in Fine Chinese Paintings and Works of Art on 21 July 2020, lot 87, sold for USD 15,075 (part lot, together with a late Shang/early Western Zhou dynasty pendant.
