翡翠质地，温润细腻。人物头部眼、鼻、口，神态生动，喜笑颜开，戏弄身旁三脚蟾蜍。据传，刘海（真人名为刘海蟾，后民间称之刘海）乃五代时燕山府治人（今北京市南平宛）。曾任燕王刘守光的丞相，后经锺离权、吕洞宾点化，学道成仙，道号“海蟾子”。元世祖时封为“明悟弘道真君”，被道教尊为全真道北五祖之一。民间视刘海为福神、财神，流传“刘海戏金蟾，步步钓金钱”之说。此器刀工简练而精干，刻画形象生动，把玩观赏，情趣十足。
