A Georgian garnet set memorial ring, with an oval ivory plaque with an urn, painted en grisaille, beneath a glass cover. A border of foiled cushion shaped flat cut garnets, with a shallow domed back, mounted to a flat section tapered band with engraved foliate shoulders. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. Head 21.00 x 15.40mm, 6.20g. Finger size O LE Condition report: Chipped and abraded gemstones. 1x modern replacement. Tarnished. Scratches and marks consistent with its age. A shank seam under the head. Flaking to the interior of the shank in one spot.
