A late Victorian amethyst brooch, with a later pendant bale, composed of four hexagonal mixed cut amethysts, in a lozenge cluster. All claw set to a gothic style gallery, with a bead cluster border, with a 'C' catch and later pendant bale. Tested as approximately 15ct gold. Base metal pin and bale. 47 x 35mm, 19.13g Condition report: Gemstones bright and lively. Well matched. Minor marks to the table or crown facet edges under 10x magnification. From the underside it is apparent that some of the gallery is pushed inwards.
