A single row graduated pearl necklace, with a single row diamond and enamel box clasp, c.1830. A single row of seventy nine 2.4 to 5.7mm pearls, strung knotted to an oval, curved clasp, with a rose cut diamond set flower or pansy, to a black enamel ground. A chased border with a later figure of eight clasp. Tested as approximately 18ct and 9ct gold. Pearls untested. 13.85g Condition report: Round to semi-round. Cream, dark cream and gold and light pink. Damage to the first few layers of nacre to the largest pearl. Marks to the reverse of the clasp. Damage and losses to the enamel. Dirty behind the diamonds.
