A Continental natural saltwater pearl and diamond cluster ring, c.1890, with a taupe coloured 8.70mm saltwater pearl, cup and peg set to the centre. A border of old European cut diamonds, all claw set in silver to a gold under bezel, solid shoulders to a plain shank. Tested as approximately 14ct gold and silver. Head 15.60 x 15.00mm, 5.03g. Finger size O approximately Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services dated 04/06/202, no. 81307-34 stating: Natural saltwater pearl, no indications of treatment Condition report: Possibly converted from an earring. The underbezel is not as curved as much as a ring head would normally be. The pearl taupe/grey with pink overtones. Dimples and ripples at one point close to the setting edge. Some of the silver claws worn or deficient. Scratches and marks consistent with age to the mount.
