A pair of white gold diamond and synthetic sapphire bombé earrings, c.1940, with an old European cut diamond six claw set to the centre of the concentric wire bombé form basket. Six applied radiating plates, each gypsy set with pairs of calibré cut synthetic sapphires, to posts and hinged omega fittings. A total estimated diamond weight of approximately 1.09ct. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. 21mm diameter, 14.73g (2) Condition report: Four sapphires chipped. Minor facet edge wear to the others under 10x magnification. Light surface marks to the earrings. Tarnished.
