A gentlemen's 18ct gold Vacheron Constantin mechanical strap watch, c.1940, with a 30mm case. A black dial with raised gold numerals and backs, gold chapter ring, hands and centre second sweep. Raised feature lugs, and gold buckle. Case no. 626165, movement no. 462582, calibre no. V466. No box or papers Condition report: It appears that the watch originally had a gilded finish which has worn, revealing a rose gold case colour. This is actually very nice with the black dial. Remnants of the gilding in the corners, etc. Dots to the dial under 10x magnification. Minor marks to the glass. Minor marks to the glass and case. Ripples, shallow dents to the case back. The buckle has had repair work to the applied Vacheron logo, which is worn and missing the end of one cross. Does not wind, ticks when gently shaken. No logo to the crown, possibly a replacement.
